KU-MU recap

Kansas played its best half of basketball this season in the first half today against Missouri. The defending national champions staked a 26 point lead and never looked back in posting a 90-65 win today at Allen Fieldhouse. It was the 40th straight home win for the Jayhawks, the longest current home winning streak in the nation.

Player of the game: Sherron Collins. Is there a player in the country playing better than Ron right now? He's controlling tempo, involving his teammates, hitting big shots, and once again went one-on-one at the end of 1st half regulation and found an open Tyshawn Taylor for a three, and the 26-point advantage.

Bench player of the game: Tyrel Reed. Tyrel hit his first three 3-pointers and also contributed three assists with no turnovers. Reed did a much better job against the MU pressure today than in game one in Columbia.

Special mention: Let's give a special shout-out to the Kansas students. The kids brought their "A" game today what with the mega-John Brown poster (with NCAA trophy in hand) and the other creative displays and posters.

#10: It was great to see Kirk Hinrich's #10 displayed in the rafters alongside good friend Nick Collison's #4 jersey. Collison was in today's crowd as was Scot Pollard, Eric Chenowith and former assistant coach Neil Dougherty.

Next up for Kansas: The Jayhawks travel to Lubbock on Wednesday for an 8:30 CT game against Texas Tech. A win against the Red Raiders will clinch at least a tie for the Big 12 conference title.
