Target focusing on food

One of my favorite brands, Target, is taking a page from Wal-Mart and utilizing existing space in its stores for groceries. The chain is incorporating this approach into 100 new and remodeled stores this year and ultimately will have mini-groceries at most of its 1,300 outlets.

The idea, similar to Wal-Mart's rationale, is to increase the number of visits--that consumers are given a reason to return to Target more frequently.

Food is already a core offering at Super Target stores, of which there are approximately 240 in the U.S.

  1. I am wondering if this approach has something to do with the revamping of their Target Product lines! Truth be told, my husband IMd me, while I was in a meeting, to discuss--Target's Diapers! The diapers have been revamped! Besides the validation that YES indeed people do discuss diapers during meetings as the Sprint NOW Commerical suggests, we have abandoned the pricy name brand diaper for the Target Brand. We are saving BIG and love the store even more. For those of you out there with little ones, HUGE savings, great product.
